VFS Global to handle Japan Visas:
The Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai and the embassy of Japan in Abu Dhabi will no longer accept visa applications.
“All visa applications including the e-visa, short-term and long term visa for the ordinary passport holders will be received at the VFS Global with an appointment”. (Those for the diplomatic and the official passport holders will be received at the Embassy).

Japan Visa Types:
E-visa: Single Entry short term stay is for the purpose of tourim is an electronic visa with validity up to 90 days.
Short-Entry-Visa: Single Entry Visa for Tourism, Business, Conference, Market Research, Visiting Relatives, Friends & Family with 90 days validity.
Multiple-Entry-Visa: Multiple short visits of 90 days each for the purpose of Business, Market Research, Visiting Relatives, Friends & Family.
Long Stay Visa: This visa allow applicant to stay in Japan during which they can perform paid work in Japan, a stay over 90 days as a student, researcher, doctor, engineer etc.

How to Apply for Japan Visa:
Once you make your mind to apply for a visa to japan, you first need to download the visa application form, fill the form, once complete, print it with other require documents as per your visa category and submit it to visa application centers.
Applications can be submitted at 2 VFS branches, Wafi Mall in Dubai and The Mall in Abu Dhabi.
Require Documents:
Require documents for Japan visa (short-term/long-term) depends on applicant Nationality or Citizenship, you can also check require documents online by entering neccassary information including nationality, place of residence and purpose of travel.

· Passport
· Facial Photo (Passport size)
· Emirates ID Photo (Front-back)

· 3 months Personal Bank Statement
· Employment Certificate (write position, salary etc)

Japan visa for UAE residents is managed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under Dubai consulate and Abu Dhabi embassy.
Residents holding Dubai and Abu Dhabi visas but residing in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah or Umm Al Quwain will need to provide proof of resident including tenancy contract, electricity bill etc.
